MOT

MOT testing is a legal requirement for all vehicles over 3 years old, to ensure that your car meets the minimum safety requirements. Without a valid MOT, your car insurance and road tax become invalidated and your car is not road legal.

At Old Welwyn MOT we can arrange MOT testing for you and fulfil both your car servicing and MOT testing requirements.

MOT Check List

MOT testing requires a qualified tester to carry out a range of different tests and inspections on the interior and exterior of your vehicle. We always review the current MOT guidelines as defined by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency including under the bonnet and underneath the vehicle:

Servicing

Whether it's a major service or just a simple oil change, we can cater for your car servicing needs. Old Welwyn MOT pride ourselves on our customer service. We are approved by Land Rover for repairs.

We always follow the manufacturers requirements for service. Unlike some garages where the the same service is carried out on all makes of vehicles, we understand that manufacturers have different requirements to ensure that your car gets the correct servicing it needs.

Is my vehicle due for a service?

Most modern cars now days only need one service a year; however the older vehicles require a service once every six months.

Oil Service

Items Replaced: Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Fluid Levels Check: Brake Fluid, Windscreen Wash, Power Steering Fluid

Essential Checks: Lights, Windscreen Wipers, Battery Charge and Condition, Tyre Tread and Pressure

Interim Service

Items Replaced: Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Fluid Levels Check: Brake Fluid, Windscreen Wash, Power Steering Fluid, Anti-freeze Coolant

Essential Checks: Lights, Windscreen Wipers, Battery Charge and Condition, Tyre Tread and Pressure, Visual Brake Check, Steering Check, Shock Absorbers Check, Suspension Check, Visual Belt Check.

Full Service

Items Replaced: Engine Oil and Oil Filter, Fuel Filter (Diesel), Spark Plugs, Air Filter

Fluid Levels Check: Brake Fluid, Windscreen Wash, Power Steering Fluid, Anti-freeze Coolant

Essential Checks: Lights, Windscreen Wipers, Battery Charge and Condition, Tyre Tread and Pressure, Visual Brake Check, Full Brake Check, Steering Check, Shock Absorbers Check, Suspension Check, Belt Check, Wheel Alignment Check, Wheel Bearing Check, Brake Fluid Condition Check, 25 Point Inspection.

Any additional work found on your vehicle whilst we carry out the service will be reported to you and we will seek your authority to carry out additional repairs.

The price agreed before the service will be the price you pay at the end, unless you agree to additional work therefore a revised price will be given.
